Reading a Prediction
Every coin page on TheWeal carries a set of price scenarios. Here is exactly what they mean — and what they don’t.
Bear, base and bull
Each prediction shows three numbers for every horizon. The bull case is the optimistic edge of a volatility band, the bear case is the pessimistic edge, and the base case is the central path the model considers most representative. They are a range, not a target: the point is the width of the band as much as the middle of it.
The eight horizons
We project the same coin across 8 time horizons, from intraday to multi-year:
- 24 hours (24h)
- 7 days (7d)
- 30 days (30d)
- 90 days (90d)
- 1 year (1y)
- End of 2027 (2027)
- End of 2028 (2028)
- End of 2030 (2030)
Shorter horizons are narrower and more reliable; the multi-year horizons (2027, 2028, 2030) are the widest and least certain by design. Read them as “here is the range of outcomes consistent with how this coin has behaved”, not as a date-stamped promise.
A worked example
Here is the live model output for Bitcoin, exactly as it appears on its coin page:

How we forecast →How to use it sensibly
- Watch the band width, not just the base. A wide band means high uncertainty — treat the base case with more caution.
- Compare horizons. If the 7-day and 30-day base cases disagree in direction, momentum and drift are pulling against each other.
- Remember what it can’t see. The model knows price history and liquidity. It does not know about hacks, regulation, listings or macro shocks.
- It is the same maths for every coin. Nothing is hand-picked. Read the full methodology for the formula.
