TheWeal is an independent crypto news and price-prediction publication. We cover Bitcoin, Ethereum, DeFi, regulation, exchanges, and 500+ coins with the same rigor a serious financial newsroom applies to any asset class. We publish daily news, deep weekly analysis, live price data with our own scenario forecasts, and educational guides for readers new to crypto.

This page explains what TheWeal publishes, how we work, who we work for (you, the reader), and the principles that have to be true for us to publish anything at all.

What we publish

TheWeal’s editorial output falls into five tracks:

  • Daily news. Reported coverage of the moves that matter — ETF flows, exchange policy, protocol upgrades, regulatory decisions, prediction-relevant data releases. We do not chase every story; we cover the ones a serious crypto allocator needs to read.
  • Live coin pages. A combined live-price + scenario-forecast page for every coin in the top 500. Each page surfaces real-time market data, our own bear/base/bull forecasts across eight horizons (24h through 2030), tokenomics, on-chain metrics where applicable, developer activity, social signals, and recent news. All coins →
  • Analysis. Long-form weekly pieces — usually 1,200–1,800 words — synthesising the week’s data, drivers, and what it means for the next move. We rotate authors so no single voice dominates.
  • Learn hub. Evergreen explainers — what Bitcoin is, how to read a price chart, what staking actually does, how to read a prediction. Read the Learn hub →
  • Glossary. 80 crypto terms defined cleanly — from staking to ZK-rollup. Browse the glossary →

How we work

TheWeal operates by six principles. Every reporter and editor is briefed on them in week one; new contributors agree to them in writing before they file. The full versions live on our editorial guidelines and ethics policy pages.

  1. Named reporters, always. Every story carries a real byline. Anonymous sources are permitted only when their information is corroborated by at least one other source and the trade-off is justified in writing.
  2. Sourcing is disclosed. An on-chain transaction the reader can verify, a named interview, a regulatory filing, an exchange disclosure. Anonymous claims must be independently corroborated before publication.
  3. Predictions are model output. Every price forecast on TheWeal is generated by our deterministic scenario model. We do not write “I think BTC will do X” without explaining the inputs that produced that number.
  4. Corrections are public. Material errors are corrected on the record with a visible note on the affected article and an append-only entry in the corrections log.
  5. Holdings are disclosed. Reporters and editors disclose personal crypto positions to editorial leadership on joining and on any material change. See the ethics policy →
  6. Independence is structural. We do not write sponsored content disguised as editorial. We do not accept paid coverage in exchange for inclusion. Advertising and editorial operate under separate leadership.

Independence

TheWeal’s editorial is independent. Coverage decisions are made by the editorial team. Advertising, affiliate, and partnership relationships do not influence what we publish or how we frame it. The full statement lives in the ethics policy; the short version is: if a paid relationship would change a story, the story changes — the relationship doesn’t.

We accept clearly-labelled display advertising and curated affiliate links to regulated venues. Affiliate links appear in tagged contexts (SPONSORED in the byline; RECOMMENDED in roundups) and never in the body of a news report. We disclose this directly on the affiliate disclosure page.

What we are not

We are not a brokerage. We are not licensed financial advisors. We do not manage money or hold deposits. We do not run a fund. We will not tell you to buy or sell anything — your investment decisions are yours.

Predictions on TheWeal are the output of a deterministic model based on public market data. The model has known limitations — it is reactive, not predictive of regime shifts, and carries widening uncertainty at longer horizons. The methodology page walks through every input, every formula, and every documented failure mode. Read it before you place weight on any number we publish. And: crypto is volatile and high-risk.

The team

TheWeal is led by five named editors and reporters, each with a public profile that includes prior employers, areas of expertise, credentials, and disclosed crypto holdings. Profiles are on the team page. Every staff member has been identity-verified by editorial and has agreed to our ethics policy in writing.

Brand & history

TheWeal launched in 2026 to fill what we saw as a gap in crypto journalism: the absence of a publication that combined live, model-driven price coverage with the editorial standards of a serious financial newsroom. The crypto press at launch was bifurcated — fast-moving but light on rigor at one end, slow and reluctant at the other. TheWeal is built for readers who want both speed and substance.

The name is a reference to the older English meaning of “weal” — wellbeing, prosperity, the public good. Our brand is independent crypto journalism in service of readers, not platforms.
