Calgary Food Bank

The Calgary Food Bank continues to battle food insecurity amongst Calgarians.
With this issue, people give up meals to pay for things like childcare, rent, medical needs, education, and more.
However, with more than five programs, organizations, and events there are a handful of ways to make donations.
The food bank in Calgary is run solely by volunteers and donations, making this a critical part in what they are able to provide.
Under the food bank’s website, you can find a wish list of their most needed items, so each “Food Hamper” meets the Canadian Food Guidelines.
Over 150 Calgarians donate their time to the food bank, volunteering in both the warehouse and at special events.
Positions such as, driving assistants, phone room assistants, working in the sorting and assembling line and more are available.
With the help of volunteers, the Calgary Food Bank was able to provide over 90,000 hampers of food have been delivered this year, and 170,093 people were able to access emergency food.
Anyone can make a meaningful donation whether it be through volunteering, donating food or money, or getting their community involved through fundraisers.
