Rachel Caputo has set the bar just a little bit higher when it comes to success in women’s basketball.

During the Trojans victory over the Lethbridge Kodiaks (64–57) on Feb. 8, Caputo broke the all-time SAIT Trojans women’s basketball scoring record.

Caputo now sits with 1,413 points wearing the Trojans red and white uniform. This breaks the previous record held by Lisa Erickson (née Ozcan) of 1,407 points (1996–99, 2000–01).

Friday marked the first game back for Caputo since a knee injury she suffered during the match-up between the Trojans and the Saint Mary’s lightning Jan. 18.

At that time, Caputo’s point total was 1,392 points, leaving her only two games to surpass Lisa Erickson (Ozcan).

With a sweep of the Lethbridge Kodiaks complete, the women of Troy go in to the playoffs with not just Caputo’s record-breaking performance to motivate them, but also a 15–5 regular season record.
